The Alienation of Undergraduate Education Students: A Case Study of a Canadian University.
Clifton, Rodney A.; And Others
Journal of Education for Teaching, v20 n2 p179-92 1994
To study socialization, researchers analyzed open-ended comments from Canadian student teachers, examining their perceptions of the faculty of education. Most comments reflected student teachers' experiences which are interpreted in terms of powerlessness, meaningless, and self-estrangement. Results suggested that organizational conditions provided by the faculty should be improved so that student teachers are more adequately socialized. (SM)
