The enrollment of minority students at Catonsville Community College (CCC) generally followed the same pattern of decline and growth as the student population as a whole between fall 1984 and fall 1989. Minority enrollments increased by 1.5% from fall 1984 to fall 1985, decreased by 12.2% in fall 1986, increased by 5.8% in fall 1987, and increased by 8.7% in fall 1988. Throughout this five-year period, minority students made up between 24% and 26% of the total headcount, with more females than males enrolling each year. In fall 1988, 77% of the 2,481 minority students attending CCC resided in Baltimore City or Baltimore County, and 75% were black.
