Focusing on the service area of New Jersey's Hudson County Community College (HCCC), this report presents data on the demographic and educational characteristics of the residents of Hudson County. The first section reviews the demographics of the County, focusing on the area in square miles and population of the County's 12 municipalities in 1970, 1980, and 1990; changes in population by municipality from 1980 to 1990; and age, race, and gender by municipality. The second section describes the educational attainment of County residents, including a comparison of Hispanic and non-Hispanic residents 25 years or older, and 1993 high school graduates' college attendance plans. The third section presents data on the primary language spoken at home and the country of birth of County residents. The fourth section provides data on enrollment rates at HCCC by municipality for fall 1990 to fall 1994 and by ethnicity, gender, and age for fall 1994. The final section reviews enrollment trends at HCCC's North Hudson Center from fall 1990 to fall 1995 and the part-/full-time status, gender, age, race, and city of residence of Center enrollees for fall 1994.
