Describes a two-year study of preservice mathematics teachers, that investigated how National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards and other reform agendas impacted their thinking and practice. Findings indicated that the preservice teachers affirmed the standards' goals, content, and recommendations, though they felt they lacked the tools to implement them appropriately in the classroom.
