This report from Jefferson College (Missouri) contains demographics and other statistics on its students. Highlights include: (1) In fall 2001, Jefferson had an enrollment of 2,027 full-time and 1,890 part-time students--28 more students than the previous year, and a credit-hour increase of 4%; (2) 94% of the total student body was degree-seeking; (3) 26% of Jefferson County 2001 high school graduates enrolled at Jefferson College in fall 2001, down 2% from the previous year; (4) The average age of the student body was 25 years--in 1991, the average age was 29 years; (5) The ratio of female to male students was approximately 6 to 4, a rate which has remained constant for more than 10 years; (6) Nearly twice as many females were seeking an associate of arts degree, compared with males; however, men predominated in the two-year certificate programs; (7) 58% of degree-seeking students were female, and 46% of degree-seeking students were under age 20; (8) 56% of students were enrolled full time; (9) The minority enrollment for fall 2001 was 3%; and (10) Job placement for vocational-technical graduates was very high--data from the State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's Statewide Placement Service show that, for the 200 vo-tech graduates in the year 2000 who were available for employment, 90% were employed in a job related to the field of study after 180 days.
