This document provides summary statistics for public community and technical colleges in Texas. Section 1 contains comparative financial data for all public community and technical college district/systems, including the following: (1) tax base, collections, and total assessed tax rates; (2) total education and general fund expenditures; and (3) federal financial assistance. Section 2 provides a one-page snapshot of summary statistics for each of the 74 public community and technical colleges, including the following: (1) primary service area population; (2) district assessed valuation and tax rate; (3) district total education and general fund expenditures; (4) total course-based remediation appropriations; (5) faculty information, full-time versus part-time; (6) student characteristics, which include college and statewide comparison of total headcount, average age, and percentages of academic majors, technical majors, gender, and ethnicity; (7) enrollment by academic and technical programs, and by in-district and out-of-district; (8) number and levels of college technical programs offered; and (9) college degrees and certificates conferred. The total education and general fund expenditures for all two-year institutions at the end of fiscal year 2000-2001, was $2,457,733,963. Total federal financial assistance for the Texas Public Community College Districts for fiscal year 2000-2001 was $393,607,723. (NB)
