State Minimum Core Curricula: Arkansas Institutions of Higher Education.
Arkansas State Dept. of Higher Education, Little Rock.
State minimum core curricula for two-year and four-year colleges and universities have been approved by the Arkansas Board of Higher Education. Within the framework of the State Minimum Core, each state institution is required to propose 35 semester/credit hours from its institutional general education core to be recognized for purposes of the state minimum. The total general education degree requirements at each institution may exceed the state minimum requirements. Each state institution is required to accept for transfer and apply toward requirements for any baccalaureate degree parts of any other state institution's state minimum core presented by transfer students, if successfully completed. This document also contains a list of transfer officers for each state institution of higher education. The state minimum core requirements include credits in English/Communication, Mathematics, Science, Fine Arts/Humanities, and Social Studies. The revised minimum core curricula are listed for 9 four-year institutions and 23 two-year institutions. (SLD)
