Pupils' Misbehaviors and the Reactions and Causal Attributions of Physical Education Student Teachers: A Sequential Analysis.
Goyette, Robert; Dore, Robert; Dion, Eric
Journal of Teaching in Physical Education, v20 n1 p3-14 Oct 2000
Investigated the reactions of preservice physical educators toward elementary students' misbehaviors. Reactions were categorized according to their appeal to the student teacher's authority status. Student teachers listed causal attributions of the misbehaviors. Overall, student teachers used direct reactions and attributed the cause of misbehavior to students' personal characteristics. Reactions and attributions differed by the intensity of the misbehavior. (SM)
