Prediction of Selected Fitness Indicators by Gender, Age, Alienation, and Perceived Competence.
Burkhalter, Nancy A.; Wendt, Janice C.
Journal of Teaching in Physical Education, v21 n1 p3-15 Oct 2001
Examined relationships between physical factors, psychological factors, gender, and age in middle school physical education (PE) students. Data on PE alienation, perceived competency toward physical fitness (PCf) and physical activity (PCp), and various fitness and strength measures indicated that gender and PCf significantly predicted fitness. Age, alienation, and PCp significantly predicted strength. PCf and alienation related to physical performance. (SM)
