Wade, Rahima C.; Anderson, Jeffrey B.; Yarbrough, Donald B.; Pickeral, Terry; Erickson, Joseph B.; Kromer, Thomas
Teaching and Teacher Education, v15 n6 p667-84 Aug 1999
Examined beginning teachers' experiences with community-service learning. Survey and interview data indicated that while teachers' experiences varied widely, most had positive experiences during teacher education and were strongly committed to it in the future. Approximately 30% were implementing service learning despite being busy and unsupported. Specific preparation features and school characteristics influenced their implementation of service learning.
