When student teachers trained in Assertive Discipline (N=248) were compared with student teachers not trained (N=288) to employ positive discipline techniques, results indicated that student teachers who received training felt better prepared and were rated higher than those who did not. (CB)

This study examined beginning teachers' perceptions of inservice training needs. Researchers asked beginning teachers to rank the areas in which they needed the most training.
