An Exploration of the Structure of Classroom Behavior during Values Development Lessons.

Lessons in values development were observed in classes of Dutch students, aged 10-15. A 22-item observation instrument was used to record the amount of classroom time spent on a particular category. Factors which affected students' behavior included nondirective versus directive teaching behavior and certain questioning techniques. (GDC)

A Study of Change in Students' Conceptual Frameworks in Astronomy.

School students' conceptual frameworks in astronomy and students' levels of knowledge and conceptualization were examined for 130 students in grades 2 through 12. Knowledge and conceptualization increased with school age. A test administered to 892 students in 7 schools demonstrated that schools contributed little to education in astronomy. (SLD)

A scheme is introduced for classifying assessment methods by using a mapping sentence and examples of three tasks from research methodology are provided along with their profiles (structures) based on the mapping sentence.
