The Hughes-Hart Educational Reform Act of 1983 Speaks to Teachers.
Claugus, Jean T.
Social Studies Review, v23 n3 p23-25 Spr 1984
The act's implications for social studies teachers are discussed. Emphasis will be given to history, geography, economics, political science, and the higher level thinking skills. An extended assessment program will identify classrooms where students are under or over achieving. Teachers will be held accountable; dismissal will be much less cumbersome. (RM)
