SAFEH[subscript 2]O: Student Advocates for Environmental Water
Rohde, Ed
Science Teacher, v71 n5 p28-29 May 2004
Five years ago when the author worked during the summer at the chemical company W.R. Grace, he, along with his colleague Walt Dutton, developed a plan to make science relevant for his students. Their plan consisted of developing a partnership between W.R. Grace and the high school where he teaches chemistry and biology. In this article, the author presents and discusses the "Student Advocates for Environmental Water--SAFEH[subscript 2]O", the not-for-profit business created by the students, that would provide water-testing services for the local community.
