Describes characteristics of a mini school open laboratory approach being used in New York. The program enables students to conduct individual projects to be involved in work study programs and to study an integrated program of science, mathematics, social studies, English, and a foreign language. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the program is underway in cognitive, affective and psychomotor areas of learning. (PS)
