An Exploratory Study of Teachers' Beliefs Regarding the Implementation of Constructivism in Their Classrooms.
Beck, Judy; Czerniak, Charlene M.; Lumpe, Andrew T.
Journal of Science Teacher Education, v11 n4 p323-43 Nov 2000
Identifies the factors influencing K-12 science teachers' implementation of constructivism in their classrooms. Specifically examines the implementation of five subcomponents of constructivism: personal relevance, critical voice, scientific uncertainty, shared control, and student negotiation. Also assesses the relationship between these belief structures and the teachers' perceived implementation of these recommendations in their classrooms. (SAH)
