Teachers' Understandings of the Learning Cycle as Assessed with a Two-Tier Test.
Odom, Arthur Louis; Settlage, John, Jr.
Journal of Science Teacher Education, v7 n2 p123-42 Jun 1996
Describes the assessment of elementary-education majors' understanding of the learning cycle. Students displayed a high frequency of alternative conceptions even though the assessment was administered after they had received instruction and extensive modeling of the learning cycle. The data provided by the test can be used to improve instruction on this topic. Appendix includes the test. (PVD)
