Suggests that an evaluation of the questions asked in inquiry training episodes may not reflect the logical progression of steps designed to formulate explanations or hypotheses, but also depend on students' disposition towards approval, tendency to minimize risk, and motivation by external factors. Studies of inquiry behavior should include psychological as well as logical factors. (AL)
