Can Positive Minority Attitudes Lead to Achievement Gains in Science? Analysis of the 1977 National Assessment of Educational Progress, Attitudes Toward Science.
Kahle, Jane Butler
Science Education, v66 n4 p539-46 Jul 1982
Analysis of 1976-1977 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) data indicate that although minority students have positive attitudes toward science, science-related careers, and scientific research, these attitudes have not been accompanied by higher achievement levels in science. Educational changes are suggested which will increase both minority enrollment and achievement in science. (SK)
