Vaughan, Melina N.; Sumrall, Joe; Rose, Lucinda H.
Journal of Elementary Science Education, v10 n2 p1-19 Fall 1998
Investigates the effectiveness of using the newspaper to teach sciences and social studies in grades K-6. Semantic mapping was used and attitudinal measures were collected from preservice teachers, inservice teachers, and elementary students to measure the effectiveness of this technique. Results indicate positive attitudes and a substantial increase in conceptual awareness. (Author/CCM)
