A Comparison of Year 1 and Year 6 Students' Conceptions of Evaporation and Condensation: Dimensions of Conceptual Progression.
Tytler, Russell
International Journal of Science Education, v22 n5 p447-67 May 2000
Describes a study of a range of challenging activities centered on evaporation and condensation done with elementary school children. Analyzes children's explanations in light of the existing literature. Finds that older children display a surer sense of ontological categories, greater epistemological sophistication, greater precision in language use, and greater range of associations.
