Reports on a qualitative case study of four teachers researching current factors influencing the teaching of elementary science. Indicates that previously documented constraining factors continue to be obstacles to teaching elementary school science. Pressure to meet district science standards and benchmarks is a new external factor, and self-efficacy can be considered an internal constraining factor. (Contains 30 references.) (Author/YDS)
