Perceptions of Science Teaching Goals

Perceptions of science teaching goals are reported from a state-wide survey of 1,078 students and 433 educators in Iowa. Data from the Educational Goal Inventory indicates that 4 of the 8 science goals were of marginal importance to students; ratings from educators were higher. Implications for science in the 1970's are discussed. (CS)
