Science Educators' Perceptions of the Ideal Science Teacher

Reports that 172 science educators ranked: a) adequate personal relations with students; b) enthusiasm in working with students; c) adequate teaching methods; and d) knowledge of subject matter as the four most important attributes of an ideal science teacher. Compares these findings with the 1968 Research on Science Education Survey (ROSES) in which cognitive knowledge was ranked most important. (CP)
