Criticized are adult education practices derived from methods that are excellent and necessary but have been distorted by being misunderstood, taken to dogmatic extremes, or applied with an exclusiveness that neglects other equally necessary ingredients in the educational transaction, e.g., deschooling; negotiation, learner-centeredness, and participation; participatory research and conscientiousness.
