This paper describes an approach to student course evaluation which employs student-generated criteria and factor analysis. Emphasis is placed on how students perceive their experiences in the classroom and how these perceptions relate to their class statuses. (Author)

Paper presents an analysis of a ritual ceremony among staff of a public elementary school which takes the form of "secret-pal" gift exchanging. Study indicates that although such rituals do not resolve causes of conflict or eliminate competitive and hostile attitudes, they do serve to reduce anxiety and conflict. (RW)

In the case studied, attitude of clique members was more highly related to achievement and attitude for male students.
