Reports research that sheds light on the relative value of two explanations of receptivity, i.e., how people are oriented internally toward proposed innovations rather than how they behave in relation to those innovations. Data was gathered in a higher educational setting and involved faculty responses to a number of proposed organizational innovations. (Author/RK)
