Interviews with (n=20) primary teachers, who had participated in inservice workshops on Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI), revealed three patterns of CGI use--as mainstay, as supplement, and decreasingly--which seemed related to their beliefs about mathematics, learning, and CGI itself.
