Relationships between Motivation Variables and Selected Criterion Measures of High School Band Directing Success.

This study investigated relationships between eight motivational variables of the high school band director and three criteria of directing success: ensemble musicianship; ensemble music performance; and students' ratings of their director. Three motivational variables--and school size--were found to be significant predictors of band directing success. (Author/SJL)
