Teaching by Exemplar: On the Dialectical Nature of Social Science.
Milton, Sande; Bickel, Robert
Theory and Research in Social Education, v11 n2 p53-63 Sum 1983
Social sciences differ from the "hard" sciences because the social sciences are fundamentally dialectical in nature. The use of instructional dramaturgical dialogs can help students appreciate the kind of knowledge social scientists seek and the positive consequences of scholarly conflict. An illustrative dialog between educators and their critics is presented. (CS)
