Comparison of University Faculty and Student Beliefs about the Meaning of Grades.
Goulden, Nancy Rost; Griffin, Charles J. G.
Journal of Research and Development in Education, v31 n1 p27-37 Fall 1997

Results indicated that they differed in three areas: the importance and impact of grades on students' present and future, processes by which grades are determined, and bases for questioning the validity of grades.
