Nonnative English-Speaking Teaching Assistants and Student Performance.
Norris, Timothy
Research in Higher Education, v32 n4 p433-48 Aug 1991
A study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison examined the effect of nonnative English-speaking teaching assistants (TAs) on student performance, as measured by grades, over five semesters. Additional variables investigated include TA regional origin, instructional area, course drop rates, and TA training programs. Consistently higher performance was found in nonnative TA-taught sections. (Author/MSE)
