Perceptions of Male and Female Academics within a Teaching Context.
Winocur, Sharon; And Others
Research in Higher Education, v30 n3 p317-29 Jun 1989
Undergraduate students were exposed to videotaped lectures that differed on two dimensions: sex of lecturer, and style of presentation (affiliative or instrumental). Analyses revealed that students' perceptions of lecturers are dependent largely on lecturing style. Affiliative lecturers were seen as more effective as well as more confident, professional, and approachable. (Author/MLW)
