Is Cooperative Learning Effective for High Achieving Entrance Students? Implications for Policy and Teaching Resources.
Kennett, Deborah J.; Young, Anna May
Journal of Research and Development in Education, v33 n1 p27-35 Fall 1999
Investigated the effectiveness of cooperative study groups among high-achieving first-year preservice teachers. Intervention group students participated in groups led by peers or upper-year students. Students completed surveys assessing the groups. Researchers compared intervention and non-intervention students' grades and survey data. Results indicated that cooperative learning did not facilitate academic performance of intervention versus control students. (SM)
