The Value of Advisory Sessions: Perceptions of Young Adolescents at an Urban Middle School.
Brown, Dave F.
Research in Middle Level Education Quarterly, v22 n4 p41-58 Sum 1999
Examined the value of advisory sessions from the perspective of urban African-American middle school students. Found that students believed that their advisory sessions fail to adequately address sexuality issues and drug and alcohol abuse, and that advisors fail to develop a trusting and caring relationship. Findings also supported a change in purpose for advisory sessions. (JPB)
