Effects of Eighth-Grade Parental Involvement on Late Adolescents' Educational Expectations.
Trusty, Jerry
Journal of Research and Development in Education, v32 n4 p224-33 Sum 1999
Used a national sample to examine the influences of parent involvement in students' education on students' postsecondary educational expectations, assessing parent involvement during eighth grade and educational expectations 6 years later. Student-reported home-based parental involvement most strongly predicted high educational expectations. Parent-reported involvement in school organizations was also predictive. Measures of parent involvement interacted with socioeconomic status. (SM)
