Differences in College Access and Choice Among Racial/Ethnic Groups: Identifying Continuing Barriers.
Hurtado, Sylvia; And Others
Research in Higher Education, v38 n1 p43-75 Feb 1997
Analysis of data from two national longitudinal studies focused on college application behaviors of different racial ethnic groups. Results show significant group differences in preparation behaviors, in number of colleges applied to, and in attendance at first-choice institution. Institutions are urged to evaluate the potential effects of policy decisions that may impact student groups differentially. (Author/MSE)
