Moderating Effects of Achievement Striving and Situational Optimism on the Relationship between Ability and Performance Outcomes of College Students.
Nonis, Sarath A.; Wright, David
Research in Higher Education, v44 n3 p327-46 Jun 2003
Examined to what extent students' ability, achievement striving, and situational optimism influence performance outcomes and the interactive effects of ability and achievement striving, as well as ability and situational optimism, on student performance outcomes. Found that achievement striving and situational optimism may be as important as ability variables when used as predictors of academic performance. (EV)
