How Students Determine the Importance of Self-Perception Domains and How This Relates to Self-Esteem.
Makri-Botsari, E.
Evaluation & Research in Education, v15 n1 p1-16 2001
Tested the selectivity hypothesis that individuals assign the greatest importance to domains in their lives in which their self-perceptions are most positive. Results for 1,033 Greek high school students show that for eight domains, except for physical appearance, there was a significant and positive effect of self-perception on the domain's importance.
