Influential Factors of an Educational Programme Implementation Evaluation: A Cross-Validation Approach

Evaluation and Research in Education, v20 n2 p100-113 2007
The aim of this study was to examine the underlying structure of the Evaluation Scale of Educational Programme Implementation (ESEPI). The ESEPI consists of six factors that play an important role in educational programme implementation, namely: training, educational material, administration, facilities, relationships and educational procedure. The instrument was administered to 449 physical education teachers. A general-factor model was postulated and supported. According to the model, the six components were loaded on one general-factor. In addition, the proposed model was found to be invariant across the two groups. Confirmatory factor analysis with cross-validation procedure partially supported the validity of the instrument. Nevertheless, further research is needed before ESEPI can be used as an instrument of choice for evaluating programme implementation.
