Colligan, Robert C. – Psychology in the Schools, 1976
The Minnesota Child Development Inventory was used to obtain parent observations on 59 children before the start of the kindergarten year. Results indicated that the parent report on a number of variables from the MCDI correlated highly with postkindergarten success in reading. (Author)

The study investigated the effects of exposure to computer-assisted testing (CAT) as an effective instructional method and its effects on attitudes toward computer-assisted instruction (CAI). Results indicated that subjects exposed to CAT had significantly more favorable attitudes toward CAI than subjects not exposed to CAT. (Author)

A peer tutoring program in spelling was developed to investigate effects of several tutor and tutee characteristics on tutorial outcomes, amount of learning and learning efficiency. Examination of the data reveals only the tutee's pretutorial spelling score was a significant predictor of the amount of learning. (Author)

A reinforcement schedule and spatial titration method were used to determine task-reinforcement area separation most preferred and effective in two third-grade boys. Errors in task performance decreased task-reinforcement area separation, while correct responses in task performance increased task-reinforcement area separation. (Author)

The predictive validity and factor structure of the ABC Inventory were analyzed by comparing scores obtained by preschoolers on this test with scores on the Metropolitan Reading Test. The correlational and factor analyses results reveal significant empirical and conceptual relationships between the two tests. (Author/PC)

Compared two groups of children know to be poor readers, those with adequate perceptual functioning and those without, to determine what inadequate perceptual functioning is related to the severity of the reading and adjustment problems. Found that scores of MPDs obtained in groups did not differ from MPD scores obtained individually. Results suggest that individual norms may be utilized for scores in the group administration of the MPD, although replication with a larger sample is required to confirm the results. (Author/PC)
