Investigated the concurrent validity of the Peabody Individual Achievement Test and the KeyMath Diagnostic Arithmetic Test in 171 adolescents. The presence of relatively high and positive partial correlations between the scores supported the concurrent validity of the instruments. (JAC)

Administered the Survey of Reading Attitudes to 167 intermediate and high school students in three private schools for Learning Disabled children. Surveyed 421 high school females to determine the prevalence of bulimia. Teenage vomiters were found to have higher levels of somatic symptoms, anxiety, social dysfunction, depression, and disturbed attitudes toward food, eating, and dieting. Investigated the effectiveness of verbal self-instruction (VSI) in increasing reflectivity in eight impulsive learning disabled children. Examined the role of various psychoeducational assessment devices in contributing to appropriate placement decisions for 30 emotionally handicapped, 30 learning disabled, and 30 educable mentally retarded students. Results showed that standardized tests plus teacher ratings were effective in predicting only the EMR group. (JAC)

Gullo, Dominic F.; And Others – Psychology in the Schools, 1984
Examined the efficacy of the McCarthy Screening Test (MST) and Metropolitan Readiness Test (MRT) to predict academic readiness after kindergarten and achievement at the end of first grade. The MST significantly predicted children's scores of the MRT and SFAT. Additionally, the MRT was a significant predictor of the SFAT. (JAC)
