Self-Observation and Completion of School Assignments: The Influence of a Physical Recording Device and Expectancy Characteristics.
Piersel, Wayne C.
Psychology in the Schools, v22 n3 p331-36 Jul 1985
Investigated the effects of presence or absence of a self-monitoring form and twice-weekly meetings with a psychologist on a third-grader's school work completion. Results indicated the physical presence of the recording device was necessary to influence completion of school assignments. Psychologist sessions without self-monitoring demonstrated minimal influence on competition. (Author/NRB)
