The Effect of Individual And Interdependent Contingencies On Inappropriate Classroom Behavior
Grandy, Gordon S.; And Others
Psychology in The Schools, 10, 4, 488-493, 73
This study examined the effects of individual and interdependent reinforcement contingencies on two social behaviors (talking out and out-of-seat behavior) during English and Mathematics classes. Under the individual contingency a student was individually reinforced for his own lack of bad behaviors by free time; under the interdependent contingency the entire class was reinforced if less than five rule violations occurred. Individual and interdependent contingencies were equally effective. (EK)
