Use of advice-giving, Adlerian interpretation, and analytically-derived interpretation with regard to whether feelings of approach, attack, or withdrawal were elicited was investigated by having subjects respond to eight videotaped role-played counseling segments. Subjects were 242 fourth-graders and 191 tenth-graders, grouped by locus of control. (Author)
