With the introduction of the new science curriculum in September 2014 in England, there is an even greater need to teach science that is real and relevant to the children. Bringing in support from external sources can give children hands-on science experiences with meaningful outcomes that will improve and enhance their learning. A wide-reaching approach is essential to promoting science and learning within the school environment. There are a multitude of resources within the wider community and all it requires to take advantage of them is a willingness to draw on existing resources as well as explore new avenues. Working with parents, business, other schools, and community groups can create an environment in which learning becomes enjoyable as well as enriching.
