Sharing Teaching Ideas: Identifying Features of Functions Stated in Graph Form or Equation Form
Goerdt, Sonja L.
Mathematics Teacher, v97 n5 p358-359 May 2004
An activity which stresses on identifying features of functions like the rate of change, intercepts, local and global behavior, zeros and asymptotes is designed to increase the level of understanding of the students and also to clear any doubts that they might have. The students are then asked to make a summary of what was discussed in the class, that may be in the graph or equation form but by using proper terminology which helps the teacher to identify whether they still have any doubts in their mind.
