The importance of representations which are fundamental to understanding and applying mathematics, with the emphasis on the way the individuals who cannot see employ the representations is described. The teachers at Hadley school for the Blind showed the way the blind people used representations when learning mathematics with some accommodation, the nature of the accommodations is vital for all mathematics teachers which provides them with a new perspective towards teaching mathematics.
