Four ideas for the teaching of mathematics topics are suggested. The suggestions are: "To Prove or Not to Prove--That Is the Question"; "Fun at Christmastime"; "A Simple Technique for Factoring Trinomials"; and "An Alternate Method for Factoring" Quadratic Trinomials." (MK)

These activities are adaptations of the classic tower puzzle and are intended to help students discover patterns, make generalizations, and use the strategy of solving simpler problems in order to solve a more difficult one.
