Dialogic Responsiveness: Toward Synthesis, Complexity, and Holism in Our Responses to Young Literacy Learners.
Triplett, Cheri Foster
Journal of Literacy Research, v34 n1 p119-58 Mar 2002
Uses "dialogic responsiveness" to provide a holistic framework for synthesizing, researching, and describing the complexities of responsive dialogue in literacy classroom contexts. Reveals how teachers were able to be responsive to the cultural, cognitive, emotional, motivational, and physical needs of young literacy learners. Discusses complexities of the findings by reviving and extending the metaphor of weaving. (RS)
